Ep Review: pink summers by lina sounds
Lina sounds' EP pink summers is an emotional journey through the highs and lows of a London summer. This six-track project showcases the singer's versatile talent, offering everything from soothing love songs to heartbreaking ballads.
The EP starts with "19," a soothing, Laufey-esque love song. From there, the tempo picks up with "Who I want to be," a groovy track that's an anthem of confidence and self-assurance.
Next, the tone shifts with "Joke," which explores the heartbreak of a failed situationship or relationship—a perfect song to cry to. Following this is "Pick me first," a track about the hopeful feeling of having a crush and wishing they'll return your feelings.
The mood then lightens up with "Groove with me," a fun song that's perfect for vibing with your friends. The EP concludes with "Summer's end," a beautiful final track that perfectly wraps up the theme of a London summer's ups and downs.
I was captivated by the emotional depth of this EP. It has something for everyone, whether you're learning to love yourself, crushing on someone, navigating a relationship, or simply appreciating your friendships. The variety in the album is impressive. lina sounds' writing style reminds me of Olivia Rodrigo's ability to blend love songs with breakup anthems. Her voice is soothing and sounds like it could easily be featured on the soundtrack of Netflix's Heartstopper.
This EP gets a 10 out of 10—I would definitely listen to it again.
